Labels/Words DO NOT Define You

Her name is Grace. She is intelligent, creative, beautiful, forgiving, respectful, compassionate, genuine, determined and such a kind young woman. Since age four, it has just been the two of us ... she has grown into someone that needs no introduction because she lights up any room and her smile is gorgeous and captures every eye. She speaks with a voice of  trust and love; and embraces everyone she meets without judgment. Never asking why her life hasn't been an easy journey, she has always managed to put the needs of others before her own needs, without hesitation.

At age three, she found a love of literature and reading became a special part of her world; when she was just seven, she started her own wigs for kids with cancer campaign; by age eleven, she became my personal angel and empowered me to fight for my life and because of her, I survived; and at sixteen, she wrote her first book to share her thoughts and feelings of being a teen and dealing with the pressures society placed upon young people, especially teen girls.

She graduated high school with honours; and by age seventeen was enrolled full-time in university. With a passion for design, Grace worked hard in stage production and costume design and now looks forward to taking her place in the exciting world of theatre production (stage design/production and costume design) ... where she will be able to share her unique expertise.

This (young) (woman) is an example of how people from (single-parent) homes living in (low-income) communities with (economic barriers) who are considered (minorities) should ignore (labels and words) used to define where they're from ... who they are ... and where they're going.

Through it all and at age twenty-one, she worked two jobs to help pay for her education and has proven society wrong because labels and words 'did not' define nor limit her determination to work hard, focus and graduate university with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with Honours .... congratulations Grace and continued success. There are no limits.
