Regenesis@York

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with some amazing students at York University who spent their weekend making a difference in the community and on campus.

Located on the 3rd floor in room 305 of York Lanes is the FREE Store, operated by Regenesis@York.

A student-run, grassroots environment and social justice organization, Regenenis@York believe in empowering students as initiators of change (as noted in their literature). This group of young people also operate the campus Weekly Farmer's Market located in the TEL building every Thursday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The market includes various vendors selling organic produce, specialty items, and a long list of sustainable products that are not always available to students who live on or near campus.

While speaking with Mike Kenny, I also learnt of future projects which includes a Bike Repair Shop and other amazing projects/events that you can look forward to from Regenesis@York.

To learn more about this organization, please go to http://regenesisyork.wordpress.com or to volunteer, email them at Regenesis.yorku@gmail.com
