Garbage Bin @ Keele and Finch

 

For quite some time, I have been making (lots) of noise about the litter situation at the corners of Keele and Finch where the TTC construction is taking place (due to be completed in the latter part of 2016).  As mentioned in a previous post, Keele Street at Finch is closed off to all traffic until August 31st. But, at least, a garbage bin has been placed at this corner.

 

Now if we can get one placed at the other corner (where most of the litter continues to cover the ground) ... that would be nice. #JustSaying

 

 

Keele and Finch ... Under Construction

As of today, July 7 until August 31, 2014, Keele Street will be closed between Toro Road and Four Winds Drive. 41 Keele and route 107C/D Keele North will divert in both directions via Keele Street, Toro Road, Tangiers Road ...and Keele Street. 107B Keele North will divert in both directions via Finch Avenue, Tangiers Road and Keele Street. Riders must transfer to and from route 36 Finch West at the intersection on Finch Avenue West and Tangiers Road.

 The sidewalk at Keele and Toro Road, leading to Keele and Finch, is once again open.

If you're seeking some grade "A" entertainment; hot delicious food; cold beverages; and good conversation on a Wednesday night, stop by the fabulous Fox and Fiddle located at 1285 Finch Avenue West (Keele and Finch).

The always funny man and M. C., Joshua, showcases some of Toronto's funniest comedians every Wednesday.  Showtime is 10:30 p.m. but come early to grab your seat because, like tonight, seats are quick to fill up.

Did I mention . . . 'there is no charge'?

TTC at Work on Keele and Finch

Pedestrian ALERT

 

Due to the on-going (completion estimated for 2015) TTC road work at the corner of Keele and Finch, pedestrians are advised be extremely careful when crossing the streets because of lane closures.  It's not a good idea to talk or text while crossing or standing at this corner because you must be fully alert at all times.

 

Be alert and be safe.

No Traffic Problems

 

Because of rain and not a lot of TTC work at the intersection of Keele and Finch, traffic was moving smoothly this morning.

TTC Worker Injured (Keele/Finch)

 

 

A TTC worker was injured while working at the Keele/Finch subway expansion site Monday morning.

A rescue basket and a crane was used to lift the injured worker out of a pit. He received minor injuries.

The Finch West Station, due to be complete by the end of 2016, will be located under Keele Street north of Finch Avenue West. The station will include a bus terminal on the east side of Keele Street, north of Finch Avenue West. The main entrance to the subway station will be located on the west side of Keele Street, north of Finch Avenue West.
