YorkU Student Safety

York University students are very concerned about campus safety and held a People’s Forum on Campus Safety today in Vari Hall. The event was attended by student and community groups where everyone had the opportunity to speak out regarding their concerns on campus safety.

Bottom line is, the students, especially students of colour, feel they are being targeted by the police on campus (Racial Profiling) and that the university do more to keep the students safe (e.g., campus security and other measures to provide a safe environment for students, etc.).
