Jane-Finch Youth

As a proud mother; young-hearted grandmother; and active community member, I'm here to say how proud I am of the Jane-Finch youth.

The NOISE Project (New Opportunities for Innovative Student Engagement), developed by the amazing Uza Anucha, a York University researcher, linked 40 university students with 40 youth in a Jane-Finch high school to raise expectations.

As a committed supporter, via social media, of the NOISE project, it was a pleasure to be invited to the Jane-Finch Talent Show, where I met some amazing talented youth.

Watching the youth walk across the stage to receive their certificates made me feel proud to witness what these young people have achieved.

So to Anucha and her team at York’s School of Social Work, on behalf of the community and our youth . . . a big thank you. I, personally, look forward to working with you again next year. Please keep me informed. ~ gLoRiA
